this sound installation consists of two speakers embedded in an architectural enclosure. habitare is derived from Latin meaning to inhabit or to dwell, from habere, to have or to hold. the sound of two people breathing in and out of synch quietly emanates from each speaker. these recordings were made as an intimate exercise, to create a space for others to inhabit, locating the non-verbal sound of the voice as a new, charged interstice.
